DOMINIQUE ADAMS
“ Dominique’s vocals swept in, not with the shadowy weight I was anticipating, but with a light beauty, joy, and a kind of eternal optimism … Dominique’s debut is a confident and well-crafted statement from a remarkable Canadian talent ” - Indie Launchpad
Dominique Adams is an alternative-folk singer-songwriter based in Winnipeg, MB, Treaty One Territory. Dominique’s lush and thoughtful lyrics paint pictures in tandem with her vocals – singular and inviting, humble and heartfelt. They weave through her songwriting like a thread – their surprising melodies tying together songs that dig deep, but land softly.
With performances at the Winnipeg Folk Festival (MB), Tiny Lights Festival (MB), Harvest moon (MB) and having opened for acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter William Prince, Dominique continues to make her mark on Canada’s vibrant music scene.
Her debut full-length album, To Keep, released through Birthday Cake Records in July 2025, captures the warmth and intimacy of her songwriting. Recorded live off the floor in Winnipeg with close collaborators Liam Duncan (Boy Golden), Austin Parachoniak (Boy Golden) and Keiran Placatka (William Prince, Leith Ross), the album reflects her thoughtful approach to music-making and the connections at the heart of her work.
“Despite the skilful collaborators on To Keep, the record’s star is undoubtedly Adams, who not only wrote each titled song but arranged them as well, drawing on her background in chorus. The result is a record that feels like a handwritten note to past and future selves, stuck to the refrigerator door with an inherited magnet.” - Winnipeg Free Press
"The songs themselves speak to Dominique’s rich inner life. Like her, they have wit, humility, grace, and poetry. ‘If I Were You’ stands out as a great work of lyricism. ‘Good To You’ could have been a Carole King cut."-Liam Duncan (Boy Golden)
